TEAMWORK IS THE ONLY WAY WE WORK

Our success is not only due to the quality of our work; it’s down to attitude, our approach and the way we treat our clients.

What makes us different?

We know our stuff

Experience, problem-solving skills and hard work are some of the things that make us tick. Each project is handled with unique perspective and integrity. We are known for our on-schedule completion and quality assurance. The final product exceeding the expectations of our clients.

Customer Satisfaction

Client satisfaction is a culture with us; it is the natural outcome because we put our heart to everything we do, and our clients feel it! Clients like to be given exactly what they want with added pleasant surprises.

We drive results

Our goal is to develop long-term relationships with our clients based on trust – the result of repeatedly providing quality service at a fair price. We also know that our success depends on repeat business. Our clients know that we will provide cost effective solutions based on sound practices reflecting their overall project goals.

Proven track record of collaboration

A major strength of VSL’s structure is the proven record of the leadership team who work in unison to manage large, complex and challenging projects. In fact, a number of the team have successfully managed projects that were significantly larger and more complex than what was originally proposed. Further, the VSL leadership team is linked through a unique history of collaborative interaction that spans over many years.

What we’re made of.

In a world in which trust must be earned, VSL Landscapes stands out for its integrity and commitment to taking ownership – ownership of realising our clients’ aspirations for their projects, ownership of seeing every job through to a successful outcome, ownership of developing strong and lasting relationships with our customers and suppliers, and, the thing that makes everything else possible, ownership of our team’s personal growth and skillsets.

Mutual respect and support for one another ensures that our people benefit from an environment of disciplined collaboration that permeates our entire company structure: from the direction that only a hands-on owner can provide, through to the invaluable asset of an in-house Landscape Architect, right on down to the dynamic and specialised teams that make it all happen on the ground.

Our culture is one in which quality and commitment are prized – we are passionate about our company, our customers, about one another, and, of course, our responsibility to protect our living environment and help create a liveable world for generations to come.

We are a team with a collective spirit big enough to embrace any size project. Try us.

Health & Safety.

We provide a work environment that reduces risk to our employees and the general public by planning, teamwork and using the proper protection equipment tools and procedures.

Our goal is to eliminate all workplace injuries, incidents and illnesses, so we ensure the most up-to-date health and safety practices are always followed on site.

Our management team is there to make sure safe working procedures and practices are developed, understood, and applied by everyone at every level, and that all workers and contractors take an active part in looking after the safety and wellbeing of themselves and those around them. Our planting teams and project managers have all the required health and safety accreditation to work on any site in New Zealand.

Making a world of difference.

We all must step up to the plate and do our bit when it comes to sustainability and environmental protection. Our belief at VSL Landscapes is that much can be accomplished within the confines of the unique challenges involved in delivering a project on time and within budget; which is why our approach to any job involves a commitment to optimising resources, reducing carbon emissions and doing our utmost to enhance surrounding ecosystems.

VSL's Green Initiatives
  1. We strategically source products from local businesses (including plants from local ecological areas) that are in close proximity to the project site location.
  2. Where possible, we establish a dedicated stockpile on site and supply all garden media in bulk (via truck and trailer) to minimise carbon emissions by reducing deliveries and site wastage.
  3. Where possible, we establish a temporary nursery. The benefits of setting up onsite mean reduced plant deliveries, lower plant mortality post planting and improved handling efficiencies.
  4. We produce monthly energy reports through our comprehensive vehicle GPS tracking system, which allows us to:
    • map the most efficient routes to the project site.
    • track fuel consumption.
    • monitor idling times on fleet vehicles.
  5. To eliminate landfill wastage, we save the plastic plant pots and trays our team use and return them to the nurseries for reuse, where possible.
  6. Where possible, we source trees that are grown in a biodegradable bag. This method not only eliminates the use of plastic bags, but helps reduce root damage when the trees are moved and because they’re planted directly in the ground with the plant, the bag naturally decomposes over time.
